Contract administration is a fundamental requirement to ensure the smooth delivery of any construction project. It is the management of the construction contract between the employer and building contractor. The exact role will depend on the chosen procurement route but will typically include:
- Preparing and issuing the contract documents
- Issuing recommendations for payment
- Issuing contract instructions
- Issuing completion documentation
Although our appointment for this service is with the Employer, as an RICS Regulated Firm we undertake the role impartially and fairly. We can provide contract administration as a stand-alone service or as part of our Project Co-Ordination or Quantity Surveying services. Contract administration uses different terminology under different forms of contract and our breadth of experience enables us to perform the role under the following forms:
- Employer’s Agent – JCT Design & Build
- Contract Administrator – JCT Traditional Forms
- ‘Project Manager’ – NEC Forms
